The first good shot of Amazing Spider-Man’s Dr. Curt Connors
Posted by Den Shewman on Sunday, May 8, 2011

The good doctor puts a sock on his Lizardness.
Take a nice clear look at Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), mentor to Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield). This scenario is from The Amazing Spider-Man, which is currently shooting in New York (where college student J. Anthony Hall snapped this photo and others he tweeted right here).
Note Connors’ scientific gaze on, well, whatever he’s holding. The genial smile on his face. The green sock on his right hand --
What?
Apparently it’s Greenscreen Weekend in Hollywoodland. First the green pool in The Dark Knight Rises, and now this Connor-sock. Surely director Marc Webb’s postproduction wizards will replaced the sock with something. Or maybe...nothing?
Our first hope was that we might be looking at Dr. Connors in the beginning form of transformation from man to Spider-Man's scaly villain, and our little minds went crazy with dreams of lizard hands. But then we remembered why Connors created the Lizard serum in the first place. Remember?
Yup, he was trying to regenerate his missing right arm, which he lost in on the battlefield when he was an Army surgeon in the war.
Now look at the photo again. Connors and Parker are chatting away on the street, with no sense of fervor or hiding of the Connor-sock. We’re betting that the Doc’s green appendage will be ’screened out and replaced with emptiness, representing the Doc’s missing arm.

gee... ya'think?
thats a bet I'd take... it's an obvious one. only i dont know why they're bothering to use cgi at all, he's wearing a JACKET and his arm isnt bent at all, he could easily hide it from the camera... why even bother with the CGI?
