Atari Games has set a release date for Ghostbusters: The Game and it will coincide with the release of the 25th anniversary of the original film in 1984. Featuring the likenesses and voices of the show's stars, Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, the highly anticipated game blasts onto store shelves on Tuesday, June 16, 2009.
Ghostbusters: The Game takes place two years after the events of Ghostbusters 2 and once again has the paranormal quartet defending Manhattan from an invasion of spooks and bad mojo. Joining the team is a fifth Ghostbuster which the player will control, allowing you to get in on the action as one of the squad and use the same equipment and gear that the Ghostbusters have. The storyline for the game was written by Ackroyd and Ramis.
The game will be available for Playstation 3 and PS2, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and DS and the PC. Also releasing on the same day will be the debut of the '84 Ghostbusters movie on Blu-ray.
