I agree, Strider. I do not know why they would start out a game with its main character, dead!
I like the undercover idea, that seems like it would make the most sense, or atleast I am hoping that way.
Now, I know some people have gone through and played this game several times, I am curious to know how that will effect where the second game starts. Maybe you get to pick your file? THAT and how WILL it start off?
I do not geyt hyped up for many games, especialy ones that are coming out this year, so far. But Mass Effect is one of my favorite games; the music was perfect, the feel and atmosphere was great, the ability to go to different planets and explore but not feeling to overwhelmed and the voice acting as well. All great qualities to a game that SHOULD have won some more awards.
(I hope they bring back a lot of the voice actors used in the first one, all of them were perfect!)

I suspect that Shepard isn't really dead, especially since Bioware has said to hang on to your Mass Effect 1 save files. I bet Shepard is either undercover (seems like a fairly likely setup given the end of the first game) or perhaps dies at some point in the sequel. I just hope that all the characters that I spent a ton of time with in the original are back for the sequel. That goes double for Shepard.
