Night at the Museum dawning next month for gamers
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Arriving in stores a few days before Night at the Museum 2 on May 22 will be Majesco's video game tie-in. The company has just revealed that a Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian has been in development and will be available for the Nintendo Wii and DS, Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC.
The film's star, Ben Stiller, has lent his likeness and voice for the game. Players take control of Stiller's character, Larry Daley, as he discovers that the cursed Egyptian artifact that brings all inanimate statues to life at night has been transported and stored at the Smithsonian museum along with the rest of Larry's friends from the Museum of Natural History. Now Larry has to get to the Smithsonian and stop the brother of Akhmenrah from unleashing the Army of Horus and taking over the world.
There are 14 levels in the game and players will get to explore the Federal Archives, the National Air and Space Museum and the Lincoln Memorial, as well as take rides on some of the better known attractions like Amelia Earhart's Pitcairn Autogyro, the Apollo Lunar Lander and on the back of Rexy, the T-rex skeleton introduced in the first movie. As you progress through the game and collect pieces of the magic tablet that the villain wants you will also play mini-games and unlock bonus content featuring audio tours, facts and trivia questions about the real Smithsonian
