April 16, 2009 - 2 Guns / project announced
Scooped on Thursday, April 16, 2009

Boom! Studios comic book series 2 Guns is in the process of being turned into a film. Spearheading the project are producer Marc Platt and the publisher's co-founders, Andrew Cosby and Ross Ritchie. Blake Masters, the creator of the Showtime series Brotherhood, will write the screenplay.
2 Guns follows an undercover naval intelligence officer and an undercover DEA agent who inadvertantly discover that both are actually working on the side of the law but only after they steal money from the mob. However, it turns out that the mob double-crossed the pair and actually got them to rip cash off from the CIA -- making them look like the two good guys have gone rogue. 5 issues of the book have been released by Boom! and have been collected in a trade paperback.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film's producers want to make the 2 Guns movie in the same style as such classic cop action flicks as 48 HRS. and Lethal Weapon.
