June 29, 2010 - Lego / Phil Lord, Chris Miller to direct movie

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the directors of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, are in final contract talks with Warner Bros. to helm the big screen Lego movie. As reported by THR, the duo convinced the executives at the Lego company and WB top management that they were the right guys to tackle the brick movie with a presentation of their idea for the movie's story, which will include both live-action material as well as animation.

The plan is for Miller and Lord to make the 21 Jumpstreet movie first before moving on with the Lego movie, so we're at least a couple of years away from seeing any brick-building on the big screen.
