September 27, 2009 - A Nightmare on Elm Street / trailer released

The trailer for the new Nightmare on Elm Street is finally out. The people online are getting the opp to see our first look at the film ahead of movie audiences (the Nightmare trailer will run with Columbia's Zombieland, opening this coming Friday.)

Looks pretty good, a bit more in there for a teaser than I would have expected. Will be odd seeing a different Freddy though. Wonder if there will be some humor still in it ?

He sounds weird and they redesigned the back of the glove... over all, scenes were directly lifted from the first film and the second... I think i seen some scenes lifted from 3 too.

there was an episode of Freddy's Nightmares that covered his origins... it sucked and was done on the cheap... glad this shows the parents torching him and a little of his back story too.

I'm not really excited one way or the other about the new NIGHTMARE yet because I really haven't seen how effectively they use the dreams to scare the audience. That one shot of showing Freddy's glove in the bubble bath was scary the first time I saw it. It doesn't reassure me that there's something new here for old school NIGHTMARE fans. I do think that Haley is a great choice for a new Freddy.
