Check out what McG and Bale had originally planned for the ending. Ballsy, but man, that would suck!

Terminator Salvation's bummer of an ending
Posted by KingVoyeur on Wednesday, May 27, 2009
Is it just me, or was there some sloppy editing in the middle? Like when Marcus and the girl go into that building to get out of the rain, and she takes off one of her shirts, and all of a sudden it cuts to her outside by a tank of water, surrounded by three or four guys, and the rain has stopped?
Honey bunches.....of death!

Okay, I saw Terminator: Salvation and I can say several things:
1) Abrams' Star Trek > Terminator:Salvation
2) Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles > Terminator: Salvation
3) The movie is ironic. One of Connor's last lines is about how the difference between robots and humanity is the power of the human heart. This movie had none. It just didn't engage me on an emotional level at all.
Perhaps the most compelling story was that of Marcus, but his arc was way too predictable and I just couldn't connect. Perhaps if other characters had been more fleshed out, he'd have fit better. I just didn't care about anyone, and that's a shame.
The action scenes were nice, and that helicopter crash shot from inside the chopper was very cool, but again, since I had no emotional attachment, they were pretty hollow, and I think an action scene could have been sacrificed for more character development.
