The Simpsons gets two more seasons
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Thursday, February 26, 2009
Homer and his brood will remain on the primetime air for at least two more years. Fox has given an order for two more full seasons worth of episodes for The Simpsons, bringing the animated sitcom up to its 22nd season.
Each season will run 22 episodes and by the end of the renewal the show will have produced 493 episodes -- that is, if Fox doesn't decide it wants to make more. The show's first episode aired on January 14, 1990. That's a long time for baby Maggie to remain in diapers.
Fox doesn't anticipate any shake-up to the show's cast.

There's a typo. It should read "The Simpsons gets two more eons".
