I'm watching the third episode, and Mal will be happy to know is has twice as much sex and triple the buttfuckery of a regular episode and it's not even over yet!

ETA: Also, it has four times the anilingus.

Boobies.

More boobies.

Boy on boy action.

Boobies.

Oh, and lots of intrigue, double crossing and yet more layers of stuff. I think I need to draw myself a picture to keep up.

So are they just trying to assure that there won't be a porn spoof of this?

They're trying to assure that the eventual porn parody will have to contain extra porn, just to live up to the original.

I bet Adam from the SNL skit will be a consultant on the porn parody too.

I mean other than Loras Tyrell, who they're obviously setting up to be Joffrey's long lost illegitimate brother, with his haughty bratty gayishness.

I can't wait to see how Joffrey gets ended. I am almost tempted to Google it and let myself be spoilt.

You could just ask many of us on this board how and if any characters die so far in the books. Because we already know.

Theon is definitely taking a different arc than in the book. Basically he was the red headed step child, and on the show he looks to actually be getting accepted back into the Greyjoy household. I thought the pouring the water on the head was supposed to be a little more intense, as in actually drowning them and then reviving them (though CPR or something). And I was severely disappointed by the lack of boobies. I only counted 2 scenes, or more like 1.5 because the boobies in the Pycelle scene was like an 8th of a second.

There would have been more boobies if Renly had eaten more pies.

So, who would you like to see on the Iron Throne? Who *should* get the throne, and lastly, who actually *will* get it?

At the moment I am loving Tyrion, but feel Robb would be good. Of course he doesn't actually want it plus has several books to turn into a complete asshat. Would be kind of funny if Jon Snow ended up on it, wed to Dany or something.

Dalty, this is going to be a bit SPOILER-Y, so skip it.

Jack - what's this speculation about a three headed dragon? What clues are there that JS is one of the heads? I get that DT is one (natch), but who is the third?

Obviously, Stannis has the most legitimate claim to the Iron Throne, so he should get it.  But he won't.

I'd like to see Jon Snow win it, but I don't think that's what will happen.

This far out, I can't even guess who will get it. Littlefinger seems to be the most aware of the game, but I expect someone will catch on and remove him from the board. That someone might even be Sansa.

Just watching an interview with GRRM on TV.  First time I have ever seen what he looks like or heard him speak.

Damn, I hope he hurries up with those books.  Doesn't look like he has too much of a longevity based lifestyle.......

.....saying that, he'll probably outpace me with my consumption habits.

He's still got 2 books to go, so that's at least 10 years. (I haven't heard any mention of his progress of the next book, so I'm assuming there's none yet)

Rumor has it that he finished the entire series in 2002 and is just being a dick and releasing new installments whenever he feels like it.

Is that a rumor you started just now?
- - - -

Tyrion is my favorite character on the show by far, and he's only cementing that position with every passing episode. To answer Jake's question, I think he'd be the most capable leader (or at least he's presented that way) so I'd like to see him on the Iron Throne, but if I understand the rules of succession, that's not very likely to happen. Dany also seems to be rising to the occasion of filling the leadership void that Khal Drogo left and I'd like to see more of her than what we've been offered so far this season. I can already picture her sitting on the throne and patting the head of the pet dragon lying by her side.

Dalty, I'm not spoiling anything. I just really don't think Stannis'll win the throne, if for no other reason than his claim is legit.

I'd like to see Tyrion on the throne as well. He certainly has the cunning and charm to be king.

Yeah, Tyrion is awesome, both in the books and the show. Arya's also one of my book favorites, and the show hasn't gotten to her best book 2 stuff yet. But yeah, I think in the books Tyrion and Jaime might be considered princes, but they're not really in the line of succession. As a member of the Kingsguard, Jaime is supposedly forbidden from inheriting lands or titles, so he would be doubly not an heir to the throne. Of course, every law is malleable, and Joffrey could theoretically name anybody his heir that he desired, though that decree may not be honored by the nobles after Joffrey's death (as it is right now, quite a lot of nobles aren't even recognizing Joffrey's right to the crown, so his heir would probably be on shaky ground. The Lannisters are the only major house that are even supporting Joff; the Martells and the Arryns are basically staying out of it at this point, and every other major house is supporting a contender for the throne (or at least a throne, in the case of the Starks, Tullys and Greyjoys)).

Dany didn't have a ton of story in the second book, though the producers claimed they beefed it up a little bit, so she should have some more screentime coming. HBO released synopses of episodes 6-9 this week, and one of them mentioned a setting for Dany's story that I wasn't sure would make it into the show, though I'm still a little skeptical. They may use the name from the book, but I wonder how intact that section of her story will be. It seems to me that it will be a little strange, but the producers seem okay with the weirder stuff from the books, more or less.

I don't really read the fan communities anymore, since there was so much negative reaction to the last book, but I used to, and speculating about the dragon's three heads was a very popular topic. JS was definitely the most popular choice after DT (who's pretty much a given). Other than that, Tyrion has a lot of fans for the third seat. In the books he is a big fan of dragonlore, so people would bring that up a lot, and he also has designed special saddles for himself and Bran to ride horses, so people also bring that up. Part of the debate is whether or not a person has to have Targ blood to be one of the three heads, and there are fans who push the theory that Tyrion is actually the son of the Mad King, though I'm pretty sure this is one of the theories that exists only in the minds of these fans. There is virtually no evidence to support it: all they have is that in the books Tyrion's hair is described as being so pale it is almost white, Tyrion has different colored eyes (though this doesn't really seem to support the theory very well, since Tyrion has one black eye and one green eye, I think, no purple eyes, but I suppose they are saying that his condition (I forget what it's called) that gives him different colored eyes is why he doesn't have purple eyes), and Tyrion's mother was a close friend of Aerys's queen, and spent time at court. There is also at least one account of Aerys being violent in bed with his wife, and then there's Aerys's jealousy of Tywin, so people put that together and say that Aerys raped Joanna (Tywin's late wife). I think a lot of this comes from one instance in the book where Tywin tells Tyrion that he always suspected Tyrion wasn't his son, but I think he said that more as just an FU to Tyrion. Anyway, other fan candidates for dragon riders are Stannis (who does have some Targ blood, since his great, great grandfather was Aegon V (or maybe it's great, great, great; I forget)), and, I dunno, I don't know if I can remember anybody else. A lot of fans like the idea of JS and DT getting together in the end, and that seems at least plausible to me, though a little too typically fantasy if Jon ends up king. But fans like to see the Starks and Targaryens as "ice and fire."
