Lost star rerouted to Hawaii Five-O
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Monday, February 8, 2010
As production winds down on Lost, cast member Daniel Dae Kim is the first of the bunch to find his next acting job. The 41-year-old who plays Jin-Soo Kwon on ABC's hit show has been cast in the new Hawaii Five-O television series for CBS.
Kim will play Detective Chin Ho Kelly on CBS' new Five-O, the same character that was originally played by Kam Fong on 241 episodes of the 1970s series. This new version of the procedural cop show set in America's fiftieth state is a remake and not a continuation of the original. That means the part of Det. Steve McGarrett, originally played by Jack Lord, is yet to be filled. The Hollywood Reporter states that the frontrunner to play the new McGarrett is Alex O'Loughlin (Whiteout, Moonlight).
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Fringe, Star Trek) and Peter Lenkov (CSI: New York) are producers on the new Hawaii Five-O.
