oh lord... ok i thought that the well had run dry in Hollywood land, now they're digging through the dirt to get crap that looks (and feels) just as horrible as that old Rambo cartoon from the 80's.

UPDATE! Schwarzenegger returns to movies with The Governator 3D - trailer now online
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Monday, April 4, 2011
Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming back to the movies, and in his first television series, by riding on the coattails of his last job as governor of California. The Terminator and Predator star made the announcement at the MIPTV event being held in Cannes that his first post-Governor project will be in The Governator.
The project will be both a live-action 3D movie that's now slated to commence filming sometime in 2013 as well as a 52-episode animated TV series featuring the voice of Schwarzenegger in the title character. Entertainment Weekly landed the exclusive first look at the 'tooned Schwarzenegger, a hero who will fight crime as well as public enenies using government.
The idea was hatched by legendary Marvel Comics publisher/character creator Stan Lee and Andy and Amy Howard of A Squared Entertainment. To launch the property in the minds of the public, a comic book will first debut, followed by the TV series and then video games, then the movie.
Analysis? It sounds pretty bland. The way that The Governator is being shaped, the market is being tested by lower cost projects first. If the public doesn't bite, then the Governator's makers are out for the cost of the TV show and comic book. Pre-sales of the cartoon series have already begun, and those sales will lower the financial risk of the Governator investors.
Creatively, Stan Lee may have made some of the biggest superheroes of all-time but his track record outside of Marvel Comics is pretty low. Lee's involvement with POW Entertainment failed to create any new A-level IPs and his new heroes and heroines feel like ananchronistic throwbacks and copies of his better known work. The audience out there might be hungry for a new Schwarzenegger movie or show but really, are they wanting the crime-fighting adventures of an ex-governor? You be the judge.
UPDATE!: Want to see the trailer that Schwarzenegger and his producing partners showed off in France for the cartoon series? The vibe I get is like that old Mr. T cartoon series back from the '80s.
As an April Fools joke, this would have been pretty awesome. As something that actually exists, it's just sad.
If this bombs, will Ahnold retire from acting and go back into politics?
hehe.. Quazar... he should just finish out his movie career by doing sequels to his earlier roles like Terminator, the Last Action Hero, Kindergarden Cop and Predator, not to mention jumping on board The Expendables II with co-stars Willis and Sly
