Day One gets an order for one show (so far)
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Wednesday, January 28, 2009
NBC is hoping to strike gold by mining the sci-fi vein by ordering a pilot for Day One, a new project created by Heroes writer and producer Jesse Alexander.
The show is set in the near future and begins with a mysterious catastrophic worldwide disaster hitting the planet and decimating all aspects of transportation, commerce and energy production as well as causing untold death and destruction. The show would follow a group of survivors attempting to rebuild civilization in the wake of the disaster as well as trying to figure out its cause and what will happen in the future.
Alexander has been a co-producer/writer on Alias and Lost as well as having put together the screenplay for Eight Legged Freaks and the Activision video game Apocalypse which featured the voice of Bruce Willis. Casting hasn't begun yet on the show.
