Jen and Jason to become parents

Jason Bateman will be Jennifer Aniston's baby daddy. The two stars will make the romantic comedy The Baster for Mandate Pictures, now scheduled to start filming this spring in the big apple.

The two directors of the Will Ferrell/Jon Heder comedy Blades of Glory, Josh Gordon and Will Speck, are helming the movie from a script by Allan Loeb. The kernel of the story idea came from an article that appeared in The New Yorker magazine. Bateman is playing the best friend to Aniston's character. When she wants to become a mommy through artificial insemination, her guy pal finds that he wants to be the father of the child. He swaps out the anonymous donor's baby making juice and swaps it with his own brand, keeping this information from her.

Bateman's schedule is free and clear right now but there has been talk that a movie version of the Fox television series Arrested Development could shoot this summer. Aniston's next movie, the comedy/drama/romance He's Just Not That Into You, opens in theaters today.
